Simply Adorable

I’m in love with layout because:
– these are favorite photos of Tobin playing in his tent
– I’ve always wanted to use that elephant paper but it’s so busy it’s been neglected until recently
– this color combo. It just came together and it makes me smile

Our Little Hummingbird Babes

Monday, June 25th, 2012

This spring, we had a hummingbird mommy nest right outside our dining room window.  It was very nice to watch her coming and going, building her nest, keeping her eggs warms, and then feeding the babies.  Since the nest was in a pine tree, it was hard to get crisp photos, but this was the best we could do.  Upper photo shows a peek at one of the eggs.  Lower photo shows the beaks of the two babies.

I helped Tobin wish his Big G a Happy Birthday two Decembers back.  I made this sign and taped it to the back of Tobin’s favorite book.  That’s how you get a 6 month old to hold up a sign.  😉  And I paired that photo with the next time they saw each other, just a couple of weeks later.

Products used:  Patterned papers:  Echo Park (stars),  jillibean soup  (stripes), SEI (green stripes), Bella Blvd (grid);  Border sticker:  Echo Park;  Journaling block:  Deja Views;  Tools:  Cricut Gypsy Wanderings (“Celebrate”), Create a Critter;  Sketch:  Sketches for Scrapbooking One Page Volume 1

Our Early Morning Visitor

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

One morning, we came downstairs to find a great blue heron in our tree right next to our upper porch.  Tobin was super excited and we went all around the house trying to find the best view.  When the bird finally flew off, Tobin was sad and signed “again” alllllll day.  “I’m sorry Tobin, short of tying fish in our tree, I just don’t think I can make him come back.”

Products used:  Patterned papers: SEI (pinecones), The Paper Company, jillibean soup;  Stickers: Martha Stewart (pinecones);  Letters:  mls, Making Memories, American Crafts, SEI;  Tools:  Cricut Gypsy Wanderings cartridge (branch);  Sketch:  Sketch Support

Oh, No!

Friday, May 18th, 2012

One of Tobin’s first two large boo boos.  He leaped out of my grasp and bonked his eyebrow bone on the dining room table.  Ouch!  I iced it as much as you can ice a 10 month old baby’s forehead.  He’s a trooper, though.  These pictures are from a couple of days later, when the bruise had set in.
