I love, love, love the sketch this month for CREATE! I got right to work with my 6×6 paper pads constructing a super fun color scheme for these photos.  I wanted the beautiful pink flowers to jump off the page.  😉

Please stop by and see what my fellow designers did with this sketch and other inspirations this month in the September CREATE magazine.

Zeta Reunion

So super excited to have scrapbooked this trip recently.  We have a group of sorority sisters that get together on a yearly basis. If too much time goes by between weddings and baby showers, then we plan extra vacations.  Here we are in August 2010 having a baby meet and greet in Santa Cruz because 2 babies were born that year in our group.

Whenever I scrapbook a trip, I just put it in with my chronological album (with a couple exceptions) but I still want it to feel cohesive.  I accomplish this grouping by scrapbooking the trip in a specific paper line.  Here, I scrapbooked our Santa Cruz trip with the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line.

A Favorite Adventure

Wednesday, June 6th, 2012

I had put off scrapbooking our two trips to the California Academy of Sciences because I was overwhelmed by the variety of photos taken each time and wasn’t inspired.  Well, I posted the first trip a few days back.   On that layout, I focused on the Lizard and Snake exhibit and the aquarium.  For this second trip, I decided to highlight my favorite part… the ray and small shark tank.  The glass bottom viewing for the kids is just wonderful and Tobin loved it both times!

This layout was inspired heavily by a layout in the Creating Keepsakes Simple Scrapbooks magazine.  The original layout was of nesting birds – the eggs at various stages – and the left page was a large bird’s nest.  I converted the concept for my photos by turning the birds nest into the glass bottom view through the boardwalk.

This is for sure one of my new favorite layouts.  =)

Products used:  Patterned papers:   My Mind’s Eye (planks),  Colorbok (vellum);  Letters:  Prima;  Tools:  Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge, Silhouette (animals, fronds);  Inspiration:  Creating Keepsakes Simple Scrapbooks
