Please Feed the Animals

Monday, May 7th, 2012

As I was taking these photos, I could wait to scrap them!  I know, I’m obsessed.  😉  But serious cuteness was going on here with Tobin feeding the turtles and my dad teaching him how to flick the food off of the railing.

Products used – Patterned papers: SEI (most papers), Creative Memories (background);Accents: Deja Views (journaling block), Little Yellow Bicycle (quote); Letters: American Crafts Thickers (grey), Making Memories; Tools: Silhouette (turtles);  Sketch:  Sketch Support

The Beach

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

Photos from our recent trip to Stuart, Florida to visit family.  This was Tobin’s first real beach day.  He loooooved the sand, especially throwing it in his hair.  But he thought the waves lapping at his feet were too much!  So he hung out in the sand with his Nana dug up seashells for us to pick through.

Products used:  Patterned papers: SEI (most papers), Creative Memories (background), Cherry Arte (orange strip);  Accents: SEI, Me&My Big Ideas (title), Scenic Route (journaling block);  Tools:  Cricut (sun)

This layout was created for the April double page sketch over at Sketch Support.  To see the sketch and many more projects made from it, please visit Sketch Support!

Tobin’s First Travel

Monday, October 24th, 2011

I can’t believe how small Tobin is in these photos!  It’s been such a wonderful 16 months with him in our lives.  Here is Tobin on our first adventure out of state.  We flew all the way to NJ, just him and I, to attend my sorority sister Steph’s wedding.  We stayed with my Aunt Renee’s family and my parents came down from NH to visit.  At the end of our stay, more family traveled up from MD, all to meet the newest addition to the family.

Products used:    Patterned papers:  Basic Grey (grid), October Afternoon (dots);  Journaling blocks:  Colorbok, Little Yellow Bicycle;  Letters: Making Memories;  Sketch: Sketch Support

I hand cut the banners on this page.  Starting with rectangles, I marked where the points should come together with a ruler and cut a triangle out of the bottom with scissors.  I used a piercing tool to poke holes between the banner pieces and hand stitched.

The scalloped strips are made using my corners rounder.  The guide comes off and you can use the corner rounder to make scalloped edges.

Marianne’s Shower

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

Celebrating the impending arrival of Marianne’s little one. So very happy for her!

If you want to see more projects with cute little umbrella’s on them, then you better hop over to Sketch Support.
Custom journaling block: I wanted a coordinating colorful journaling block but didn’t have the right thing pre-made. So I took a Jillibean Soup journaling block that was simple and accented it with the same patterned paper from the umbrella. I also added some whimsy by cutting out birds from another patterned paper.
Products usedPatterned paper: American Crafts (die cut), Basic Grey (pink hearts), Flair Designs (brown), My Mind’s Eye (green branches), Cloud 9 Design (green hearts), Creative Imaginations (wood – umbrella handle); Journaling block: jillibean soup; Birds: 3 Bugs in a Rug (cut from patterned paper); Letter Stickers: American Crafts, Creative Memories; Sketch: Sketches for Scrapbooking Volume 7

A Tobin Sized Pumpkin

Friday, January 28th, 2011

New Mexico Part 1

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

In September, my mother and I attended my cousin’s wedding in Los Alamos. Since we’d never been to New Mexico before, we had to make a mini vacation out of it! We started in Albuquerque and drove up the eastern route through Santa Fe. After the wedding, we took the scenic, western route back to Albuquerque. Here is part of our day in Santa Fe. We saw two very interesting churches in the area. The first was the oldest church in the country and the second had an amazing staircase that seems to defy gravity. A few more layouts from this trip are still to come…

Details: For this trip, I chose the Basic Grey Boxer line of papers. I think the red tones go very well with the New Mexico architecture. On the first page, the journaling blocks are by K&Company (red) and Basic Grey (green). Scalloped edge is by Bazzill Just the Edge cardstock. “Welcome to” was written with cork letter stickers from the Target dollar bins. “New Mexico” was written with Making Memories puffy alpha stickers. On the second page, journaling block is by Deja Views and heart cardstock sticker is by mls. “A feat of” was written with Jenni Bowling alpha stickers. “Engineering” was cut using the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge.

Adventures in Friendship

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

This layout was inspired by Jennifer! She did a collage layout with a ton of photos she took while visiting me in April and titled it “Adventures in Friendship.” She had the perfect idea for scrapbooking the trip, so I copied her! 😉 I did full layouts for our stops at the Botanical Gardens and the Jelly Belly Factory, but the photos and journaling here cover the rest of our activities.

Details: Green grid paper is from the SEI Bridgeport stack. All other patterned papers are from the DCWV Green Stack. Flower was cut using the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge (I added part of a Heidi Swapp flower behind it). Scalloped circle and circle ring were cut using Mini Monograms. “Adventures” and “Friendship” were cut using Lyrical Letters (Loop de Loo feature).
