Family Pine Cone Hunt

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

Tobin just loves to go out in front of our home and search around for pine cones.  Here he is working hard at it last February.

Product Spotlight:  I wanted to point out a really fun product I used on this page.  This was my first experiment with Close to My Heart’s Color Ready Cork Alphabet stickers.  I used a background stamp from the April Stamp of the Month set and the Cocoa Ink Pad to make my letters look textured like a pine cone.  It came out perfect for this layout!  These cork stickers also come in shapes.

Products used:  Patterned papers:  SEI, Creative Memories, My Mind’s Eye;  Journaling block:  K & Company;  Letters:  Close to My Heart, Making Memories, jenni bowlin;  Stamps:  Close to My Heart;  Sketch:  Sketch Support

Bubbles

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

Fun with bubbles at my brother’s place in Germany.  Good thing my dad has a sense of humor, because I love how this one photo captured his fascination with the bubbles instead of Tobin’s, haha.

Products used – Patterned papers: Basic Grey (grid), We R Memory Keepers (blue), American Crafts (glitter), SEI (teal, yellow), Crate Paper (dots); Stamps: Close to My Heart; Glitter: Stickles; Tools: Cricut Opposites Attract, Lyrical Letters and CTMH Art Philosophy cartridges

This layout was created based on a support from Sketch Support.  Go take a look and see all of the other projects that started with the same inspiration!

Cousins

Monday, September 26th, 2011
Do you remember my post on packing for a crop?  Well, here is what I did with that huge pile of supplies I compiled.  I ended up using pink as the background but pulled mostly purple into the supporting patterned papers.

My cousin Shannon and her daughter came to visit us last summer when Tobin was just a few weeks old.  It was great hanging out with her for the day and showing off the little guy.  =)

Products used: Papers:  Heidi Grace (paisley), Creative Imaginations (flowers), My Mind’s Eye (large dots), SEI (stripes);  Embellishments: Making Memories (journaling blocks and “adorable”), Bella Blvd (family), Prima and K&Company (flowers);  Letters: American Crafts thickers;  Sketch: Sketches for Scrapbooking Volume 8

Here are photos of my son being his super happy self in the morning at Grandma’s house after Christmas. I just love this outfit on him!
Products used: Patterned papers: Basic Grey (quilt), K&Company (white/blue); Letters: echo park (scrabble); Tools: Cricut Create a Critter (whales), Opposites Attract (“rise”), and Lyrical Letters (“shine”) cartridges; Sketch: Allison Davis
Variation: I used this sketch pretty literally. But I had to swap out the stars for some cute little whales to match Tobin’s outfit.
A little bit about me:
When it comes to paper crafting I am... addicted!

Where do you craft? Since we moved into our new home, I inherited this odd nook between the front door and fireplace that divides the great room. It has large windows but an awkward wall configuration. So I get tons of light but have to be pretty creative with storage. Unfortunately, the windows are so nice that the cats trample my desk throughout the day to get to them.

When I am creating, these are the things I have to have around me… Paper, Cricut, adhesives, scissors, sunlight, magnetic mat.

When I am not creating, you can find me… Entertaining my 8 month old son, Tobin.

When it comes to sketches I… have to have them! I love playing around with patterns and color. I leave arrangement up to the experts.

Farm Fresh

Monday, February 14th, 2011
Another Sketch Support layout. You can see the sketch and more great inspiration for the design team here.

These are photos from the local farm stands my parents go to. We took Tobin for his first visit when I was home in NH in October. We had fun picking out a pumpkin and exploring the corn maze.
Products used: Patterned paper: Bella Blvd (cloud cut outs), Coredinations (background), SEI (stripes), Making Memories (die cut sheet and shimmery scalloped strips); Tools: Cricut Country Life cartridge (windmill, sunflowers, chickens, and banners)

Watching Our Garden Grow

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

My top priority when we moved into our new home was to get a potted garden up and growing. I found these beautiful blue pots and knew they were perfect! I tried to grow a large variety of produce this season to determine what grows well. The best were: tomatoes (though they need bigger pots next year!), cucumbers, lettuce, and carrots.
Details: Patterned papers and stickers are by Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety. “GROW” was written with Making Memories cork alpha stickers and the rest of the title was also written with stickers by MM. I forget who makes the bumblebee brads.

Lake Tahoe March 2010

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

These are pictures from our Tahoe trip back in March with my dad. We like to visit this same park each year on our days off from skiing. The lake, with the mountains as a backdrop, is just gorgeous!

Details: White paper with floral pattern is TIffany’s by Autumn Leaves. Dot and grid (swirl) papers are both sides of Little Boy Blue “That’s My Boy” Daring Dots Paper by My Mind’s Eye. Ribbon is by Stampin’ Up. Swirl was cut using the Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge (I linked two of the cuts together with my Gypsy). Flower was cut from Stretch Your Imagination. The title was cut using Lyrical Letters.
