Tobin’s First Haircut

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012

Tobin’s hair finally grew enough to need a cut when he was about 15 months old.   It’s not easy cutting the hair of a little boy that just wants to keep moving.  Finally, Warren was able to distract him with a bottle – twisting the cap on and off.  And quite thankfully, our friend Chris was in town to act as our photographer!

Products used:  Patterned papers:  SEI (stripes),  October Afternoon, Crate Paper, K&Company (grey), Recollections (argyle);  Border punch:  EK Success;  Letters:  American Crafts Thickers;  Stamps:  Close to My Heart;  Journaling block:  K&Company;  Sketch:  Page Maps Book 2

These Boots Were Made For Stomping

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

A fun “fall” day in early December.  Tobin wouldn’t go near the leaves with his sneakers on.  But with his boots, he was ready for some stomping!  In fact, I believe he’s worn his boots every day since.

Products used:  Patterned papers:  Cosmo Cricket (leaves), Close to My Heart (cream/blue);  Stamps: Close to My Heart;  Journaling block:  Scenic Route;  Tools:  Silhouette with Script MJ Bold font,  Cricut CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge (leaves);  Sketch:  Sketch Support

Washington DC

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

My scrapbooks at home are a series of chronological albums. At some point I decided it was too confusing to have multiple little albums for different trips or themes, so now every last page goes into the appropriate book by time frame. (And I’ve been asked this before… What do you do when your 1 vs 2 page layouts leave a gap? I conveniently fill that gap with an adorable layout of my cats. Because who really cares if those pictures are in order?)

When I have a series of layouts that go together for a trip, etc, I like to pull them together by using the same line of paper throughout. That way, as you flip through one of my albums you can tell when there is a “mini-album” inside. For these layouts, I chose the SEI Moravia line of paper. The colors were perfect for the 3 layouts I needed to complete.
Warren and I traveled to Washington DC for a friend’s wedding back in October. Before the wedding, we met up with my sorority sister, Anna, and her husband to explore the city. We wandered by the Washington monument, and visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Warren and I also went to the Natural History Museum before ending our day. For these layouts, the majority of the journaling ended up on the final page where I detailed the day.
Details: All papers are by SEI Moravia. Journaling blocks are by Deja Views. “WDC” and “Natural History” were written with Thickers Jewelry Box chipboard letters. “ashington” was cut using the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge. “Air & Space” was cut using Lyrical Letters.

The Louvre

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Unfortunately, this was one of those “I’m just glad it’s done” layouts. I had a lot of photos I wanted to include and I just needed to get them on the page. I decided not to add any embellishments other than the title because it was plenty busy!
These are photos from inside and outside the Louvre in Paris. We were super tired afterward because the museum is sooooo huge. You can only really finish a fraction of it in one afternoon.
Details: More Making Memories Passport line: teal background paper and floral paper, pineapple stamp (next to “The”). I used the Storybook Cricut cartridge to cut out a mat for the Mona Lisa photo. “The Louvre” was cut with Lyrical Letters.
